About Lazuli Pugs
Bred with Purpose.
We are a small, dedicated breeding program in Northern Colorado focused exclusively on black pugs — a variety defined by its elegance, soundness, and true breed type.
Our Story
We started showing our pugs in 2020 and discovered a deep passion for the black pugs. What started as a love of the breed quickly grew into a commitment to preserving and improving it — through careful selection, rigorous health testing, and a dedication to the AKC pug breed standard set forth by Pug Dog Club of America (PDCA).
Black pugs are challenging within the breed, and we believe they deserve the same attention to health, structure, and temperament as their fawn counterparts. Every breeding decision we make is guided by that belief.
We are based in Northern Colorado and are proud members of the American Kennel Club and the Pug Dog Club of America. Our dogs are shown, health tested, and loved as family members first.

What We Stand For
Health First
We test every breeding dog comprehensively. Healthy parents produce healthy puppies — it's the foundation of everything we do.
Breed Type
We breed to the AKC standard, selecting for the hallmark traits of the pug — the square cobby body, the distinctive head, and the confident, loving temperament.
Lifelong Relationships
We stay connected with every family we place a puppy with. Our commitment to our dogs and their families doesn't end at eight weeks.
